CURR 204 Curriculum & Instruction: Teaching History/Social Science and Science

This course ensures candidates will receive instruction and skills in History/Social Science and Science and how to integrate literacy into subject-specific areas. Candidates will be provided with a comprehensive, standards-based and research-based curriculum addressing the foundational, theoretical, and practical aspects of teaching History/Social Science and Science. Candidates will have opportunities to acquire knowledge in the essential components of content instruction in History and Social Science, utilizing the California History/Social Science content standards and the California State Standards in English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Science, Science, and Technical Subjects. Additionally, candidates will understand the essential components of content instruction in Science utilizing the Next Generation Science Standards, the California History/Social Science content standards, and the California State Standards in English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Science, Science, and Technical Subjects.
