Full course description

Field Supervision is designed to increase and develop candidate’s knowledge, skills, dispositions, and effectiveness, so that candidates graduate the Intern Program with a solid level of expertise, professionalism and preparation. The Coordinator of the Teacher Intern Program assigns an appropriate Field Supervisor to each candidate at the start of their program enrollment. Assignments are made based on credential match and experience. Upon assignment, Field Supervisors will contact candidates to coordinate and begin their work together. Candidates work 1:1 with the Field Supervisor for all four semesters of Field Supervision (Year 1 and Year 2). The focus of field supervision meetings and observation/debrief/reflection cycles is to improve the candidate’s teaching and professional effectiveness. Individualized support from the Field Supervisor supports candidates with learning how to apply course content into their teaching practice.
